In reply to your letter of the 24th Instant, acknowledging the receipt of mine from me, of the 24th of January last, on the subject of the Regulations you had laid down for the further sale and granting of land on this Island,
I have the honor to assure you that I am well aware of the difficulties which you had to contend with, and also satisfied as to the motives which actuated you as you did.
A copy of your letter will be forwarded with the Despatch regarding Hongkong, in the course of preparation.
